ברוכים הבאים!
יצרתי את האתר הזה כדי לפתור שתי בעיות טובות שאני מתמודד איתן כל הזמן. הראשונה היא שהחיים משתנים ומפתיעים כל הזמן, שהם כל כך מגוונים וצבעוניים, ככה שלעולם אי אפשר להגדיר אותם, אלא יש בהם יותר מדי נושאים שאני רוצה לדבר עליהם. קחו אותי לדוגמה: יש לי דוקטורט במדעי החיים ותואר ראשון בבלשנות, אני רוקד מלא סלסה במשך הרבה שנים, אני אוהד שרוף של מכבי חיפה, אני אוהב חנויות ספרים חנוניות, ואני אוהב מסיבות רועשות. אני מקווה שהאתר הזה יהפוך לחלק מהאינטרנט שיציג פרוסה קטנה מהמגוון האינסופי של החווייה האנושית.
הסיבה השנייה שבגללה יצרתי את האתר הזה היא אישית יותר. בכל פעם שאני נמצא לבדי אני מתחיל לחשוב, כמו כל אחד, ומאותו הרגע המוח שלי עשוי לטייל לכל מקום. לפעמים אני חוכך בדעתי על תופעה חברתית שאני נתקל בה, לפעמים אני אהרהר בחלק שווה של המדע, לפעמים אני אחשוב על אנשים או על דברים שהם יפים או מעניינים בעיניי. מה שזה לא יהיה שעובר לי בראש, זה לפעמים דורש ביטוי, אחרת המחשבה מקהה, או גרוע מזה, מרקיבה. אם אני מרגיש משהו חזק מספיק בשביל שהוא ימנע ממני להרדם, אני הופך אותו לסיפור קצר בדף ועט ואחרי כן מעתיק אותו למחשב כדי לשמור עליו. רשתות חברתיות אמורות להיות התווך הטבעי למחשבות כאלה בזמננו, אבל יש כיום מחסור חמור בערוצים להתבוננות איטית שמכבדת את התפיסה ואת הקשב של הקהל. אני מעדיף את המילה הכתובה להרהורים.

I created this website to solve two happy problems I struggle with constantly. The first is that life has so much texture and is so colorful, shifting and changing and never letting you pin it down, that there are too many topics it makes me want to talk about. Case in point: I have a PhD in life science and a bachelor's degree in linguistics, I have been dancing salsa avidly for years, I am a diehard football fan, I like nerdy bookstores, and I like loud parties. I hope this website becomes a piece of the internet that bears out a small portion of the infinite spectrum of human experience.
The second reason I created this website is of a more personal nature. Whenever I am by myself I, same as anyone, start thinking, at which point my mind might go anywhere. Sometimes I’ll mull over some cultural phenomenon I encounter, sometimes it’ll ponder a cool bit of the scientific world, sometimes I’ll think about things or people I find to be curious or beautiful. Whatever is going on in my head, it sometimes requires an expression, otherwise it stagnates, or worse, rots over. If a feeling is strong enough to keep me awake at night, I’ll transform it into a short story by pen-and-paper, then copy it to my computer for safekeeping. Social media would be the natural outlet for such thoughts nowadays, but there is a dearth of modern avenues for the slow, reflective processing that respects its audience’s perception and attention span. I like the written word better for contemplation.
Finally, and though this may be a heretical thing to say, I give you full permission to judge my creations and will in fact be glad if you do.
